Mira Vintage Kantha Quilt (Blue, White, Ocean Colours)

£150.00
SOLD OUT

A beautiful, one of a kind, vintage kantha quilt with a deep blue base colour adorned by elaborate orange and white regional stitching throughout for a fabulous offset.

It’s an ever-so-slightly larger kantha than is typically found and exquisitely aged. As is true with vintage finds, each of our kanthas is one-of-a-kind and not to be found again.

❃ Size: 231 x 186cm. A large kantha perfect for a double or king size bed.
❃Material: 100% upcycled vintage cotton sari, hand-sewn together using a traditional kantha stitch and rows of complex regional stitching.
❃ Love and Care: Our vintage kantha quilts are machine washable (and in fact get softer over more time & use).
❃ The Maker: This quilt has been handcrafted by the women artisans of ‘The Centre for Development and Peace’, a fair trade non-profit in Meherpur which trains, employs and supports more than 250 women. The CPD empowers the most vulnerable and at-risk women and children; widows, victims of trafficking and sex workers.

Our vintage kantha quilts are handcrafted from vintage textiles which have lived a full life before becoming a kantha quilt. Thus they may show imperfections, such as small threads or holes in the layers, colour inconsistency or small stains. They may show signs of wear, or have little patches here and there, which only adds to their character and charm. Our vintage kanthas are a handmade product, thus the pattern and stitching can be irregular.
