Joy Vintage Kantha Quilt

SOLD OUT

A beautiful, soft, vintage kantha quilt, crafted from 100% upcycled cotton sari. This colourful kantha is handmade and one of a kind.

Our kantha blankets are so much more than just a blanket. Handcrafted by talented women artisans at a fair trade social enterprise in Bangladesh that helps survivors of sex trafficking and women at risk rebuild their lives. Your purchase makes a difference. Through the creation of these beautiful and unique items, the artisans are now employed in work that brings dignity, livelihood and a brighter future.

β€’ Our kantha quilts are six layers of vintage sari, hand-sewn together using a traditional kantha stitch. The word 'kantha' means 'patched cloth' and skilful repairs simply enhance the vintage character of this quilt.

β€’ At Kantha Karma we're passionate about caring for Mother Earth, that's why the majority of our products are either recycled or upcycled. The cloth used in our kanthas is 100% re-purposed, which means no new dyes or inks, no by-products of production; the only factory-produced supplies we use are thread 🌍

β€’ Time softened sari cotton creates a lightly-quilted, cosy feel.

β€’ This quilt is double-sided and features two different patterns.

β€’ Machine washable (and in fact get softer over more time & use!)
.
β€’ Each kantha is one-of-a-kind with it’s own unique variations and each one features the hand-stitched name of the woman artisan who made it.
